Impact Investment
Corporate venturing is instrumental in driving corporate strategies geared toward fulfilling and advancing corporate social responsibility goals. At this gathering, we delved into strategies for effectively approaching and showcasing this critical aspect.

Our event started with insights from Coenraad de Vries, Co-founder and Managing Partner of StartGreen Capital and Oneplanetcrowd. Coenraad sheded light on StartGreen and the venue. StartGreen is one of the largest impact fund managers in the Netherlands, currently financing over 470 million euros in projects and businesses focusing on energy transition, diversity, and circularity. Additionally, the KIT (Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen) houses the SDG House: a community of sustainability experts and social entrepreneurs comprising over 50 forward-thinking entrepreneurs, NGOs, and organizations.
Following the opening remarks, we had three keynote presentations.
Anthony Viellevoije, Partner at StartGreen Capital, elaborated on the concept of impact investing and its role in helping corporates achieve their SDGs. He shared insights into best practices, pitfalls to avoid, and lessons learned, supplemented with a joint investment StartGreen and Shell made in a startup.
Nathan Buijs, Impact Engineer at InvestNL: Nathan offered insights into making impact tangible, discuss methods to determine impact during both the due diligence phase and execution, and establish measurability. Invest-NL's aim is to contribute to businesses' financing and realization of societal transition tasks and provide access to corporate finance if the market does not sufficiently provide this.
Jelmer van de Mortel, Rabobank's Head of Acorn. Jelmer provided insight into Acorn, an impact investment vehicle of Rabobank, supporting smallholder farmers across the world in their transition to agroforestry with the help of voluntary carbon removal units and by doing so, 'growing a better world together'
Following the keynote speeches, there was an interactive session where attendees engaged in roundtable discussions to explore the theme and share experiences further.
